Hilary and Mark will be getting married in exactly a year’s time so we used this little engagement portrait session to get them excited, to create a record of their love and to take some pictures of them to use for the upcoming save-the-date card. In addition to that it’s always interesting for couples to feel what it’s like to be photographed by your chosen photographer. I think it’s fair to say these two had fun and are looking fab! 🙂

I will be photographing Georgia and Igor’s wedding this October and both as a celebration as well as to document their love for each other we had a lot of fun taking some engagement portraits in beautiful Bath last weekend. A lot of people wonder what engagement portraits are for and deem them unnecessary. If you asked any couple however who has done an engagement shoot prior to their wedding, they will tell you what an excellent chance it is to get to know your photographer, see how they work, how they direct you and what the outcome is. It is also a chance to create some photographs that can potentially be used for a save-the-date card. Engagement portraits can be taken at the location you proposed, at a place that means a lot to you or even at the wedding venue. The world is your oyster and I definitely love getting creative and making use of beautiful places and seasons!

Camille and Nick will be getting married at the end of January and we took some engagement portraits just before Christmas. Scroll down to see how we achieve the ring on the nose shot and what went wrong!
And this is what happens when you balance a wedding ring on a dog’s nose … it was Camille’s idea to do this and thankfully she remained very relaxed when the ring fell … between the concrete patio slabs! Quick thinking and teamwork got the ring back out in no time thankfully!!

Serine & Harry came all the way from Singapore to spent some time in London and Bath. As they are getting married in Malaysia this spring, they got in touch with me for some engagement portraits that incorporated many of Bath’s beautiful sights. To make things easy I picked them up from their hotel and we drove to the Circus, the Royal Crescent, the Holburne Museum, Alexadra Park and Sham Castle. It was a sunny, but very cold day and poor Serine was putting on a brave face, wearing only a thin white dress. And while driving around from location to location we realised that I spent years working with Serine’s flatmate’s friend Jerry back in London – the world is so small sometimes!
