Hi Betty, I hope you and bump are well, thank you again for all your hard work on our wedding day, so many guests commented on how lovely you were!! Thank you so much for these photo’s we love them!! Thanks, Netty & Chris
Jeanette and Chris got married at beautiful Bishopstrow Hotel (20 miles south of Bath) just a few days before Christmas. Jeanette and Chris came all the way from Sydney where they live to celebrate their wedding in the wintry UK. I LOVE Christmas weddings as venues are decorated with loads of beautiful lights, Christmas trees and mistletoe – all very photogenic items! But of course winter weddings require careful planning as daylight is short and the weather is too cold for outside group shots. So as you can see in this example we made use of the decorations and used one of the venue’s rooms for our group shots. With the help of my two studio lights and the furniture moved out of the way, we managed to get as many as 19 people in one group shot! I have got to say this venue is great for weddings as it offers the bride and groom loads of space to celebrate, a library (which housed the photo booth), a drawing room (which I used for the group shots) and plenty more space for people to mingle.
A little bit about the day: both Jeanette and Chris got ready at the venue and the ceremony took place late in the afternoon. It was followed by mulled wine for the drinks reception and a tasty Christmas themed three course meal. The speeches were hilarious and in multiple languages, the sparklers plentiful and the first dance immensely impressive. All this was followed by probably the funniest moment: the groom removing the bride’s garter with his teeth, you must not miss those pictures! All in all it was easily the most beautiful and best organised Christmas wedding I ever had the pleasure to photograph!
2015 was yet again an amazing year for me and you cannot believe how difficult it is to select a relatively small amount of images from 25 amazing weddings! I was privileged enough to experience a great variety of weddings, from the complete DIY back garden wedding to a ceremony in the grand Bath Abbey, from a tying-the-knot-ceremony to a multi-national wedding in Poole. I certainly did not get bored! I met some amazing people and many new friends. I learned TONS and got very, very inspired. 2016 will have a different pace and bring some big changes for many reason about which I will write when the time is right. All exciting things though! So now enjoy and thanks if you were one of my couples or one of the many other talented wedding suppliers I had the pleasure to work alongside!
The photographs are beyond our expectations, we love them and will always be so grateful for the perfect record of our day. Laura & Tom xx
I think I have a special soft spot for the Holburne Museum in Bath as a wedding venue. It’s an unusual venue, being a museum, however I like photographing weddings there because the Bronsword Gallery has the most amazing diffused light! Combine that with a pretty amazing couple and you are in for a great wedding day in October.
Laura decided to get ready at a friend’s place only minutes walk from the museum. Laura and Tom had their ceremony, the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and wedding disco all at the museum (sometimes couples only book the museum for their dinner/wedding breakfast). We took a short break in between for some portraits of the two of them. I’m sure you can see in these photographs how much fun the two had!
Thanks for making it to the end of this blog post! 🙂
I have photographed a few wonderful weddings at the Holburne Museum in Bath recently, so I have decided to put together a book for the wedding coordinator to show to potential clients. I thought I’d share the book with you.
A couple of weeks ago I photographed the wedding of Emma & Neil at beautiful Ston Easton outside Bath. Their wedding ceremony took place in the glorious Bath Abbey and oh my, nothing compares to that church! Of course the couple faced the crowds when they walked out of the church and we quickly got on with heading to a few scenic spots for some portraits en route to Ston Easton.
I hope you enjoy looking at this wedding as much as I did photographing it!
