David and Soe are undoubtedly the best dressed grooms I have ever met! And this summer sunrise wedding ceremony is yet again a great example that you do not need many guests to have a very special day. All you need is love!
And the love was strong between these two. I had not met either of them prior to their wedding at the Roman Baths and was very pleasantly surprised to see two such dashing men waiting for me outside the entrance. They chose a friend each as their witnesses and that was all the guests they had.
Sunrise wedding ceremonies at the Roman Baths take place in the morning before the baths open to the public.
After a short chitchat and some photos outside, I lead the two grooms inside to the registrars and then let them get on with their meeting while waiting for them downstairs. Sunrise wedding ceremonies often come with beautiful steam across the warm water and amazing sunlight coming in from the side. This means that the area where is the ceremony is shaded but the couple are beautifully backlit.
“Betty photographed our wedding which took place at the Roman Baths. We chose her having looked at a number of photographers online and we’re so glad we did. The photos are wonderful. It was a small wedding – just the two of us and our witnesses – and she captured perfectly the love and affection we have for each other. We can’t recommend her highly enough. – David & Soe“
Once we left the Roman Baths we walked past the Bath Abbey and towards Great Pulteney Street. This area has a personal meaning to the couple so I took some portraits of David and Soe on Great Pulteney Street (with the Holburne museum in the background), inside No 15 (a beautiful hotel) and on the side of Pulteney Bridge (love that angle!). I eventually dropped them off at The Ivy where the grooms and their witnesses enjoyed a celebratory brunch.
