You are a true artist! We are so happy with the photos! In fact couldn’t be more happier!! Thank you so much, Mike and Claire
When I first met Claire and Mike I got very excited as I have always wanted to photograph a wedding at the Holburne Museum in Bath. And I didn’t leave the day disappointed! The museum is such a stunning and unusual setting for a wedding ceremony (the ceremony took place in the Brownsword Gallery), just beautiful! And that was not all: Mike and Claire chose Brittons Farm Estate as their reception venue so that’s where Claire got ready and that’s where we headed back to after the ceremony. A magician kept everyone entertained, the farm provided their own home reared lamb and we even managed a few night time sparkler shots at the end of the evening. All in all it was a fabulous wedding to be part of and to photograph!

Hi Betty, It’s us again. We got the package, it’s so cool we took photos of the unboxing! We absolutely love each and every picture, we spent ages on slideshow mode going “that’s a really good one” and “that’s a really good one” over and over. Such a fantastic memories for us. We really can’t believe it’s all over and we’re back to work again, but we have your photos and our memories to help the crash back to reality. We wish we could do it all again. Love, Richard & Paula
In Part 1 you saw how Paula & Richard got married at the Taunton Registry Office on a Friday beginning of May. This blog post is about their Saturday celebrations at beautiful Huntstile Organic Farm. I went over in the late morning to see Paula and her family getting ready. Huntstile has quite a few rooms so everyone can get ready in a different corner. Of course it took the boys less than ten minutes to be suited and booted.
I joined Richard and the guests on the tractor pulled hanger on their way up to the stone circle. Paula followed in the owner’s four by four. The outdoor ceremony was emotional, witnessed by lots of friends & family, and most importantly it was officiated by two of their closest friends. While most of the guests chose to take the tractor back down the hill, a few guests walked with Richard, Paula and I.
Back at the farm, the drinks reception was soon followed by the wedding breakfast and three of the funniest, most eloquent and touching speeches I have ever heard. Actually the best man’s speech was a video recorded speech as he had been travelling the world at the time of the wedding. A video camera pointed at the wedding guests recorded their response to the speech which was sent back to the best man.
I finished the day with documenting the first dance, some pretty amazing live Argentine Tango (the bride’s aunt!) and some romantic outdoor shots of Paula & Richard.

Hi Betty,
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for sending our photos. They are so good, better than we could have imagined. You have captured some beautiful portraits and lots of memories for us.
We are so grateful, thank you so much!
I’m going to send them to my family, so I’m sure I’ll be sending you some more feedback!
Thank you,
Paula & Richard
My time with Paula & Richard was epic which is why I am splitting my blog post into two parts. They had their marriage celebrations spread over two days: the marriage ceremony at the Taunton registry office on a Friday, followed by a beautiful outdoor ceremony on a hilltop at Huntstile Organic Farm on Saturday with all their wedding guests, friends and family, and they had two of their close friends officiating the ceremony.
I only spent a few hours with them on Friday so here are my favourite photographs from their wedding ceremony in Taunton, followed by the drinks reception at The Castle. Look at this wisteria! I have never seen anything like it and doing it justice with my little camera was a challenge!

Everybody who has had a professional wedding photographer at their wedding will tell you how excited they were when they first received their photos. Naturally there is an expectation that every single image will be mind blowing. And most of them probably will. But did you know that you can play an essential part in getting so much more out of your wedding photography?
Here are my top 5 tips for brides and grooms to improve their wedding photography:
1) Keep the room you are getting ready in tidy. If your photographer covers the preparations there will be a lot of photos taken in this room. It is here that the bride puts on her dress for the first time. There will be family or friends around, anticipation and excitement is in the air. The whole bridal outfit comes together. This is a lot of information to capture for a photographer and you want to provide a decent background for these important photographs.
2) Speak with the priest, vicar or registrar whether there are any photography restrictions. For example is the photographer allowed to move through the room and is flash photography allowed.
3) I don’t recommend time planning that is too tight. I know you want to make your money go a long way but weddings are full of emotions that you cannot anticipate beforehand and it’s very difficult for a photographer to rush you through the day as it’s often the in-between moments that are loaded with surprises, personal interactions with friends and family or even surprises. Allow enough time for a good wedding reportage. It is the photographs that you will look at in future to remember the day.
4) If you like a confetti shot, it’s best to provide the confetti as most guests won’t think about bringing any. Have you considered dried rose petals? They are sustainable and look beautiful on photographs.
5) When it comes to the group shots, nominate of the groomsmen or bridesmaids to help round up the people needed. Consider providing a list with names for them. This will really help the taking the formal group shots as it is not the photographs that take long, it is getting the relevant people together!
I hope this helps you in your planning. If you need further help or advice please leave a comment below, email me or fill in my simple & easy contact form.
Karis and Willhave been together since they were teenagers and the nicest thing (from a stranger’s point of view) was that they are totally not shy showing their love and affection for each other. I’m a soppy girl and have a romantic heart so that was right down my alley!
They live in Bristol and that is where we did the engagement portrait session. Started off at a park not far from their house and continued a loop via various places that had a meaning for the two of them. Thankfully we were blessed with amazing weather considering it was only end of March!
If you like this portrait session and would like to do one yourself before your big day then I can call me on 07984 029 639, email me or fill in my simple & easy contact form. A pre-wedding portrait session is an excellent way to get to know your photographer before the wedding day and to capture some lovely portraits of the two of you, just as you are.
